Marina was born and raised in a small oil and gas town called Edson, located in Alberta’s north west region. Growing up she loved to listen to her parents tell Greek myths and fables as well as stories about their lives in Greece, which inspired her to become a storyteller herself. When she was introduced to photography and video production in high school she knew her future would be as a journalist. In 2008 she moved to Calgary, Alberta to pursue her Bachelor of Communications – Journalism from Mount Royal University, which she completed in 2012.
Her key areas of interest include economics, politics, culture and environment. She has written for the Calgary Journal, has worked as a contributing editor for Wild Gunmen Magazine in Calgary and has also been a news reporter for Edson’s radio station 94.3 The Eagle.
